Our last spring break

This past week was Mike's last spring break (because it is his last semester of school!) and we had a great one. We went with Mike's family to California to visit Disneyland and Sea World. The boys were very excited.

Warning: lots of pictures to follow!

First we headed to Anaheim and Disneyland. Jordan was very excited on the tram from parking to the park. In fact, this was one of the boys' favorite parts of the park:

We waited in line forever to meet Mickey because the boys really wanted to see him. As we were getting ready to go the park, in fact, Jordan got excited and said, "Oh, I think I hear Mickey getting ready for us!" Unfortunately as soon as we got to Mickey the boys were nervous and didn't want to get too close to him. We got a picture, but you can tell they are apprehensive:

Here is Jordan, waiting in line again, to do the Its a Small World ride:

The boys enjoyed the ride, but Evan kept his hand on Mike the whole time, just in case:

We rode carousels a bunch and the boys like them...nice and tame:
All three of the kids were mesmerized by the Playhouse Disney Live on Stage:
And then we met the boys' favorite characters, Mater and Lightning McQueen (or Queen Ka-chow as Evan calls him):
The bumper cars were a hit:
I really enjoyed the Jungle Cruise, and so did Evan. Jordan, however didn't. But it was neat to ride the boat:
After three days at Disneyland we left and headed south. The boys were so worn out that they crashed on the drive:

We spent the next day at Oceanside. Unfortunately it was the coldest day of the trip, but we still went to the beach:

The boys had mixed feelings about the beach. They both didn't like the waves. But Jordan loved a stream of water flowing to the ocean and stomped around in that. Evan loved running along the beach. That boy loves open spaces to run:

The last day of the trip we went to Sea World and we all really enjoyed it. I especially like the Shamu show:

Evan LOVED the flamingos there. I think he would have stayed there all day. We tried to get him to go so we could see a show but he kept saying, "not yet!" So I stayed back with him and we had a great time watching the flamingos and running around:

So, that was our last spring break. It was nice to do something so fun and especially to get down there before we move this summer. We loved that we got to come home and have a slow weekend at home watching conference and celebrating Easter. The boys were really excited about Easter and had a great time. It is nice this year that Jordan understands more the reason for Easter. If we ask him why we celebrate Easter he says, "Jesus was resurrected! He got his body back!" Anyway, it was a great week for our family!
