Kids are fun

The weather here has been beautiful (low 70's!) so we took Jordan to the park yesterday to blow bubbles...until it was overrun by junior high kids getting out of school (mental note, do not go to the park around 3:30!) We could see the whole city from there!

Vegas in all its "glory".

Evan is getting so cute. He smiles at us when we look at him now. Last night we put him in his bouncer in the kitchen while we ate dinner. Every time we looked over he smiled at us!

We got sidewalk chalk for Jordan today. He is having fun "dawing"!

Cute, cute, cute

Jordan is getting a little crazy with his sleep routine. Now he needs his three pacifiers and his stuffed dog. He is so cute! He hugs his little dog and turns his pacifiers over and over in his hands.

Mike thought it would be funny to get Jordan to have all three pacifiers in his mouth at once. Jordan thought it was funny too!

Evan isn't looking as tiny next to Jordan now! Aren't they cute?!

Meet my new best friend

Evan loves to be held. It was getting to the point where I was literally holding him all day and evening. Well, we decided to try a swing, and he stayed in it and slept! I am such a happy mom now. We could even turn the swing off after he fell asleep and he stayed asleep. I was able to eat lunch, clean up my house, and take a little nap!

Is Evan handsome or what?!

Evan is smiling more and more now. This is the best picture I have been able to get so far - it just doesn't do it justice so I will keep trying!

Evan's blessing

Evan was blessed yesterday. Mike's family came down for the weekend, so we decided to do the blessing while they were all here. Evan did a good job - no crying!

Here are some cute pictures of cousin Aubrey. Jordan definitely was over his shyness around her. He loved giving her things to chew on.

All swaddled with care...

Mike swaddled Evan the other day and Jordan wanted in on the action. He loves being like other kids, even Evan. He thinks it is so funny to lay down next to Evan and do what ever he is doing.
In other news, we have been trying to get Jordan adjusted to nursery at church, but he isn't doing as well as we hoped. He is really excited to be there and play with the other kids, but he wants us to stay close by. So we are trying to get him used to that. Mike left him for a few minutes to get me to take a turn and Jordan was more distraught than I have ever seen him before. So, this could be a long transition. We actually took him a couple of times when he was 16-17 months old and he did fine by himself then. I am wondering if having the baby has contributed to him having a harder time. Oh, and he likes to clap after hymns. He's pretty cute. Evan is doing great at church. By this point, Jordan wouldn't really sleep at church any more. But Evan will stay quiet all three hours as long as he is fed. I put him in his car seat after feeding him today and he went to sleep BY HIMSELF for the rest of church. This is amazing!

Handsome boy

Here is Jordan before church today. The picture just doesn't do justice to how handsome he was. Maybe it is because he was upset that we took his pacifier away so he could go to nursery!

Evan's first bath

We gave Evan his first tub bath last night.

At first he liked it...

Then he hated it...

Here he is all warm and clean after...

I swear he is starting to smile a little bit...

My cute, silly boy

Jordan is a crack-up. He keeps us laughing all day and has such a personality. So, here are some pictures of him.

Jordan is OBSESSED with his pacifiers. We were going to wean him from them but then I weaned him from nursing, then we moved, etc, etc, etc. Anyway, it just wasn't too big of a priority for us. Well, now he is completely obsessed with them and carries around as many as he can find. He has two of his own and steals Evan's sometimes. He is so cute that it is hard to resist. When we tried unsuccessfully to wean him a few months ago, he made up his own name for it - Baba. I really don't know where it came from because we have only ever called it pacifier. That's where we broke down that time - seeing such a cute boy crying for his baba is hard to resist! I didn't realize that this is such a controversial issue either. I have been shocked at how many strangers will just come up to us and say he is too old for a pacifier or tell us we need to take it away! If he wasn't such a happy, outgoing, well-adjusted child who is developing amazingly then maybe I would worry, but he is those things. I guess I see it as the same as having a blanket or stuffed animal he carries around. Anyway, there's my little rant... Here he is with his two babas.

Jordan was being silly on his bus tonight. He is a little goofball!

Ever since Christmas when he got crayons of his own, Jordan has loved coloring (or to "daw" as he calls it). Thank goodness they are washable!

In other Jordan news, he is still amazing. He knows all of his letters now and can say any of them when we ask what they are! And, is still obsessed with the Doodlebops. All day long he asks for the "bops". What a cutie!
Jordan transitioned himself to his bed. After he slept in it once, that was all he wanted. It is really nice because he doesn't get out of it either. He is always excited for naps and bedtime. We lay him down and he puts his hands behind his head and tells us bye.
Jordan is so polite now too. He says please and thank you all the time. I think he has figured out that he is more likely to get something if he says please when he is asking. What are you going to do?!
Thanks for indulging my proud mother moment.
