That's how we get down

Can I just start by saying Jordan is getting so big:

And Evan looks stunning in Yellow (I personally like how he color coordinates with their latest escapades on the wall...):

We had more good times this evening dancing to the Doodlebops:

With the occasional drawing breaks:

And I saved the best for last. Here is a video of Jordan dancing. I think he's pretty cute...:

Crazy week gone by...

I have been so busy, hence the lack in blogging. I just finished Savior of the World, which I absolutely loved. But it kept me very busy and gone from my boys a lot. The week that our performances began, Jordan got really sick - high fever, cough, congestion, etc. We took him to the doctor and he was diagnosed with croup. He just sat on the couch all day for almost a week, which is completely abnormal, even when he is sick. He and I did a lot of cuddling, which was nice, but I am happy to have my busy boy back.

Then, as Jordan was getting better, Evan and I got sick. Evan actually had the least severe case. Fortunately we are all getting better.
When the boys were sick they didn't eat much. Jordan is just now starting to eat more than a few bites of everything. We had blueberry pancakes the other day and it was the first time in a while that they ate a bunch of food. So, we couldn't resist the messy face:

The Easter post

Well, here is our Easter post. We really had a good weekend. It was nice to spend it together and enjoy the holiday. I really wanted to dye eggs this year, so we decided to try it. Jordan did well, but he kept fussing to drink it. He didn't believe us that it would be gross to drink. So then he just asked to hold the cups...I'm sure with no intention to try to drink them! Anyway, he worked on a couple eggs and I think he enjoyed it:

Evan was funny. We gave him this spoon thinking it would be easier for him to try to do something. Well, he just kept taking the spoon out of the cup and trying to get it in his mouth. So here is the before and after (after being when we took the spoon away...):

Jordan was excited when he got up and saw that the Easter bunny had brought him presents. He kept saying "I got presents, I got presents!" Here they are:

And of course the egg hunt:

Evan just wanted to play with his basket, but one we got him to understand what was going on, he enjoyed it:

Here are my handsome boys on Easter, all ready for church...in our best attempts at getting a picture of the two of them:

That night we had friends over for a nice dinner and lots of fun! It was a great day to celebrate an act that gives our lives meaning and cause for joy.

Bubbles!

Well, this post is to tell you all that we broke out the bubbles for the first time this year. As you can tell, Jordan enjoyed himself:

And Evan got into it a bit:

But then he found a friend to play with...:

Ah, bubbles. Here they are contemplating where the bubbles went:

Some outside time

This week is Mike's spring break and so he took the day off and we headed for the hills...well, red rocks on the west side of town:

And we took a hike here:

We found the hike we wanted, lathered the boys with sun screen and got out of the car. And all they cared about was the rocks. I guess this means we could have stayed in our own backyard! Jordan found a big rock and tried to lift...and quickly moved on to a smaller one. It was really cute. As you can see, we aren't very far from our car yet:

So, the beginning of the hike reminded me of an experience I had a long time ago. When I met Mike's parents for the first time, we went on a horse ride, which happened to be the first time I had ever been on a horse. Well, one of their mules was chosen for me, and the whole time I fought to keep him moving because he just wanted to stop and eat the grass. That was like starting the hike with the boys. They just wanted to stop and throw the rocks. So, it took a bit of time to get going:

Jordan loved it:

Evan did an amazing job. He was steady and wanted to do it all himself...and he could do most of it:

By the end he was tired and ready to be held:

At the end of the trail we went on there were pictographs that were pretty cool. So, while we were admiring these:

Jordan and Evan were enjoying more rocks (they can't get enough of them!):

We had such a fun time up there and the boys absolutely loved it. In fact, Jordan was fighting to stay so we walked a little more and then had to pursuade him that we needed to go! I have me some outdoor boys. I keep trying to get them to enjoy story time at the library and such, but they just want to run around outside and play with rocks and dirt. And that is fine with me!

This weekend and updates

Well, it has been a while. I have been busy with rehearsals, but I thought I would post a few pictures from this weekend to keep the grandmas happy!

Jordan has branched out and draws cars now:

Evan found this doll we got for Jordan when Evan was born, and he likes playing with it:

Conference this weekend was nice. Jordan was so excited to see the prophet once he knew who one of the men was. He's a cutie.
The first sessions of each day were rough, but the boys napped through the second sessions, which was nice. We set them up with a movie in the back of the living room and they just looked so cute sitting there together...it lasted about 2 minutes:

Jordan liked the Tabernacle choir and was dancing along:

Jordan loves arranging the chairs in the back of the living room like they do for nursery at church for singing songs. He is saying "singing time" in this picture:

I can't believe how big my boys are getting.
Evan is saying more and more words:
mum - more
bup - cup or up, depending
mama - anyone in the family
hi, bye, bite (one of his favorites, I think), no, yeah, and many others.
I bought shoes for Jordan the other day...in the regular boys section, not the little boys section. It took me a while to digest that one.
Jordan has learned how to spell his name (he can't write it, but he can tell you the letters...he is really good at remembering things). He says things all the time that shock me. I can't believe how much he knows and how quickly he learns.
I love watching them grow. They are extremely active little boys, but they are a joy to watch develop.
