Cereal!

We decided to give Evan rice cereal for the first time tonight. Lately it seems like he is always hungry, so we're hoping this helps. So, here it is!

He wasn't too sure about it at first...

But then he liked it. (yep, still as handsome as ever!)

"Thanks for the cereal Dad!"

We weren't sure how it would go because he never opened his mouth when we tried. But, as soon as he realized what was going on he opened his mouth gladly!

And, if those pictures weren't enough, here is a video of it!

Brothers Part II

We wanted to compare pictures of Evan and Jordan at 4 1/2 months. You can definitely tell they are brothers!

Brothers

Jordan and Evan are starting to enjoy each other more. It is really cute to see them interacting. In the car Jordan is able to keep Evan happy - Evan just watches everything Jordan does. Today especially Jordan has been obsessed about being close to Evan. Everywhere I put Evan Jordan ran over there to lay next to him, sit with him, or play with him (I put Evan in his exersaucer and Jordan had a grand time playing with him.) And yes, I couldn't resist dressing them alike today. Maybe that is why Jordan has been particularly interested in Evan!
As an aside, I am addicted to finding sales on clothes for the boys. It is kind of sad but I will only rarely spend more than $2 on something for them. So, these outfits were $2.50 each! Just needed to share!

Just because

Sorry, but I can't get over how cute Evan is...and he is getting so big! So, I took some pictures of him today. (By the way, I've been trying to get pictures of Jordan but he just wants to grab the camera...)

I love Evan!

Evan is such a wonderful boy. He is so sweet, so quiet, so good. I love him! Here are some pictures we took over the past few days.

Evan has been sick. I think he has a cold: coughing, congestion, etc. As a result, he hasn't been sleeping very well during the day. Yesterday it all caught up with him. He was having tummy time and just fell asleep! He is so cute!

Evan loves this little blanket that we got as a baby gift from one of Mike's classmates. He gets so excited when we give it to him and he grabs it and pulls it close to him. He is also sucking his thumb lately...crazy boy!

Teething much? He keeps chewing on my fingers and loving it! He has a strong bite!

This picture is blurry, I know, but he is so cute!

Evan!

Evan is getting so big now, I can hardly believe it! For about a week he has been trying to sit and he is getting pretty good at it. He can keep himself stable for a minute or so and even catch himself when he starts to tip. Jordan wasn't doing this for about another month, so we are surprised! (as a side note, he is in just a onsie because it is 105 degrees here today...in May!) Anyway, he had his 4 month check up last week and he is in the 90th percentile for weight! He is so cute and happy. He laughs all the time and just lights up when he sees us. He is definitely a joy to parent!

Happy Mother's Day Erica!

I (Mike) figured I should take a minute today to let everyone know what a great mother Erica is (yes, those of you who aren't related or who have something better to do can move on, this may get cheesy...). I'll try to just focus on mother-related compliments! Ever since Jordan was born (almost two years ago!), Erica has selflessly put her kids' needs ahead of her own. She was so prepared to be a mother because she has always planned for it and it's what she wants to do. She is definitely the rock of our houselhold, somehow staying sane in the face of two (sometimes three) fussing and screaming boys. She is such a fun mom with the boys. Nothing makes me more happy than to see her dancing or rolling around with Jordan. She does everything for them and still wishes she could do more. It makes me so happy to know that our boys are constantly with a mother who cherishes them above anything else in her life and who will always do what is right for them (and just plain what is right). So, Erica, thank you for everything you do for me and our boys. We love you!!

A self-indulgent post

Three years ago today, Mike and I were married. It seems like it has been so much longer than that, in a good way. Maybe it is because so much has happened: we have had two beautiful boys, lived in three states, Mike finished his Masters degree and transferred to work on his PhD, and many other things along the way. So, I am taking an opportunity that we rarely get while taking care of kids and home - I am going to focus on us for a moment and post this self-indulgent entry. If you would like to join me, here is a journey through our beautiful wedding day in May three years ago.

Mike's mom set up a wonderful brunch at Somewhere Inn Time. It was really nice - a perfect way to start the day.

Then to the temple. There were a few clerical kinks along the way, but we had a wonderful experience. The ceremony was great and we left so happy.

After pictures, we headed to our reception. My mom did an AMAZING job at creating a French cafe where we served crepes for the guests. I honestly couldn't imagine a better time.

It has been a great three years. Mike is a great husband (really - he gets up with me for every baby feeding, and many other selfless, amazing things!) I am so glad we were married this day three years ago!

My boys

I love my boys. They are so fun! Here is a video of Jordan playing with Mike tonight. He has a lion puppet (he keeps saying lion in the video) and he was cracking up when the lion popped through his slide. (screaming warning...you may want to turn your volume down!)

Evan is such a sweet, beautiful boy. He discovered his feet these past couple days, so here is a picture! Then, I couldn't help taking more pictures of him because he is so cute!

More videos of Jordan

So, Jordan is really cute. Have I mentioned that before? Well, he is. Here are a couple videos I took of him tonight. Sorry they are so dark. You might have to watch them from an angle. I am out of habit of opening the blinds because it gets so hot so fast now when they are open. It always seems light enough, but it never is on these videos...I will open them next time!

This first one is of him saying bubbles. It is, by far, my favorite thing he says - it sounds so cute!

Jordan and I were dancing to a Doodlebops CD tonight and he kept doing his version of break dancing, which is how Moe dances on the show. He is so funny!
