Jordan is hilarious!

Jordan seriously is a funny kid. For example, during our prayers over dinner sometimes he just can't wait to eat so he gets his fork and tries to take a bite with his eyes tightly closed! Anyway, here are his latest pictures.

Jordan is insisting on putting his shoes on himself. He actually isn't too bad at it:

He almost got it...!

The other day I was trying to take pictures of Evan and Jordan wanted the spotlight. So he kept posing for me to take his picture!

Moving on

Those sweet days of immobility are fading away. The past few days Evan has been rolling on to his side. When I came downstairs today after putting Jordan down for a nap, this is how I found Evan, hanging out on his side...

Isn't he handsome?!

I was trying to get a video of him trying to roll over, and he just did it! How lucky that I happened to be filming when he rolled over for the first time!

Here he is after he finally got his arm out of the way and completed the roll. Can you tell he is pleased with himself?

Here is another video of Evan. I just think he is cute in it!

Sliding fun!

Jordan has been having a lot of fun on slides lately so we wanted to see about getting him one for his birthday. We went to Toys R Us to look the other day and he played and played on the one there saying, "whoo, whoo" every time he went down. When we took him away he was fussing and saying, "fun, fun..." Well, we found a good deal on this one on craigslist and had to get it for him...a little early. He is loving it!

Here he is having fun on his new slide...

Usually when we ask Jordan if he wants to take a bath he says "yeah!" and runs to the stairs. Not tonight!

The buzz

Jordan got a haircut tonight. He was such a good boy. He cried the whole time but sat still enough to do it. Mike really wanted to give him a buzz haircut, so this is what he did.

Jordan is so cute at prayers lately. I guess I admit that I have been bad because I've been watching him every once in a while during prayers. He folds his arms and closes his eyes really tight and moves his head all around like his trying to find some way to stay entertained while still praying. Here is a picture of him getting ready for family prayer tonight.

My little boy is 3 months old!

Evan is three months old! I can't believe it! Here are some pictures of my handsome boy.

He is so serious sometimes.

I was trying to get a picture of me with Evan yesterday and Jordan wasn't happy about it. So, here is me and my two boys...

Evan is getting really good at holding his head up!

We were dancing tonight with Jordan and Evan loved watching us.

For all the moms out there...

I just read this article and thought it was a nice read...and a little reassuring! :)

Videos of Jordan

Jordan is such a fun little boy. I can't even come close to describing his wonderful personality. Anyway, here are a couple of cute videos of him. He has this little laptop that he can push letters on and they have a little animation to go with. L is his favorite because he thinks it is fun. The computer says "Laaaaaa" and he loves to do it with the computer.

Jordan is getting really good at catching a ball. Here is an example. (PS - yep, that's what my house looks like at the end of the day!)

And so it begins...

Before I had two kids I swore I would not dress them alike. But, now that I have two boys, it is kind of fun! Don't they look cute together?! I'm going to try not to overdo it, but I admit I have a few other matching outfits for them!

As an aside, Jordan is on a new kick that makes taking pictures even harder! He loves to look out of the corner of his eyes instead of turning his head.

Evan's laugh

Well, it isn't much and you really can't see anything, but at the end are a couple of Evan's first little laughs. They are so cute!

Thoughts on being the mom of my boys...

I'm not going to even pretend that I think being a stay-at-home mom is easy, but I do love it. Sometimes I feel like my kids are trying to drive me insane, but they usually just bring me so much joy. Like these things that happened recently:

Evan laughed twice at me last night. I was struggling and struggling to make him happy and finally I started making noises at him and he thought it was funny!

For some reason Mike decided his nickname for Evan is Ebbo. At the same time he started doing this I thought I would teach Jordan some new body parts. He knows most of them, but not things like elbow, which is what I started teaching him. Well, now when I ask him where is elbow is he points to Evan!

Evan's fussy time of day is very consistant - he is always getting difficult around 6:30 every night. Well, that is close to Jordan's bath time. So, I started taking him in there and he loves watching Jordan play in the bath. He never fusses when we are in there. It is cute to see Evan enjoy being around Jordan.

When I am doing stuff around the house during the day I can see out of the corner of my eye that Evan is watching me. When I turn and look at him, he smiles so big. His smiles are great - the only way I can describe it is that his whole face smiles.

We went to get our taxes done yesterday. We ended up having to wait about 45 minutes so Jordan was running around. But, every time he came back where he could see me he yelled "Mama, Mama!" with a huge smile and ran to me. I felt loved.

I love playing with Jordan and listening to his laugh. I love spending fun time with him. I have been putting on a song from the Doodlebops that he loves and we put it on repeat and dance and dance to it. He know the moves now and tries so hard to do them with me and the Doodlebops. He is also getting really good at catching a ball. He catches it and I say good job but he won't throw it back to me until I clap too. And, the other night he was putting pegs in a toy with holes. We were saying good job when he got one in so he started say job after every peg he put in. He is a lot of fun to play with!

I love my boys. They aren't always easy, but I wouldn't trade them for anything! Sorry for the self-indulgent rambling, but I've been thinking lately about how great it is to be a mom.

And, since my mom would be terribly disapointed that I didn't post a picture too, here is Evan and his fish toy. He is SO close to grabbing it. I had the camera ready, but this is as close as he came. But, he's just about to!
