Christmas!

Christmas was a lot of fun. My family came into town because I can't travel any more. Jordan and his cousin Haley had fun (and so did the rest of us!) We got new pajamas on Christmas Eve and the kids were SO cute!

My mom made matching stockings for us all for this year that were really cute.

We got Jordan a little basketball hoop for Christmas, and he is already practicing to be a basketball star. He and Mike are going to have a lot of fun together with it.

The Venetian

The day after Christmas we went to the strip to show my family. We decided to go inside the Venetian and it was really cool. It was nice because the ones we went into before you had to go through the casinos to see any of the other attractions they had. This one, however, was just the shops and river. It was amazing there. All the shops looked like a street in Italy and the roof was painted just like a real sky - it was extremely realistic! Anyway, it was cool to see. This was the best we could do for a family shot there because Jordan just won't pose any more!

Double Trouble

Jordan loved getting to play with his cousin Haley for a week. They were cute together. Haley would grab Jordan's hand and they would walk around the living room together. They loved giving each other high fives and just playing. Jordan is going to miss having her around.

Bath Dance

Jordan was being so funny in his bath tonight and so we had to capture it in a video. I tried to keep it as modest as I could!

Another haircut...

So, I know that Jordan getting yet another haircut isn't that news worthy, but he is just so dang cute, I can't help it. We didn't do too much because we want to try to get it a little longer on top again, but we trimmed the sides and back. So, here is Jordan getting ready. He actually did really well this time - no screaming at all!

Here are some after shots of my happy, handsome little boy.

A pig and other updates

The other night Mike's classmates had a little Christmas party/get together. We were doing a white elephant gift exchange, so we thought nothing of it when people came in with presents. Well, when we were starting that part, they told us that they decided to throw a baby shower for us too! Not only were they nice enough to do that, but they got little presents for Jordan too. I can't believe how sweet that was of them! This pig is one of the toys that Jordan got - you shake it and it rolls across the floor. He loves it and gets so excited when it moves. Its really cute.
In other news, Mike is doing finals this week, so he has been able to be home a lot more. Jordan is definitely a daddy's boy when Mike is around. He follows him and does everything he does. When Mike sits at the table to study, Jordan sits in the chair next to him and watches. When Mike is standing next to a wall bouncing a ball (he does that a lot when he's studying, chatting, etc) Jordan grabs a ball and stands next to him. He loves being like his dad, and it is really cute.
Jordan is growing up so much. He is saying a ton of words and understands a lot. It is really nice that he can tell us what he wants now. He is as friendly as ever and makes friends every time we go out. He loves saying hi and bye to people. Last night, he did something so cute. For the first time when we were having family prayer he knelt on his knees and crossed his arms (only for a few seconds, but it was so cute!) He also just learned how to jump and he is really proud of himself every time he does it. We have been trying to teach him numbers a little bit, and counting. He understands the word counting, but he can only say two. So he just goes "two two two two"! Jordan loves animals too and he can do a lot of animals sounds. He does a cow, rooster, pig, duck, monkey, and some others. Its a crowd pleaser at get togethers! He is also getting really good at feeding himself with utensils. Anyway, I could go on and on about him! I am just amazed at how much he has grown lately and all he can do. He is a great little boy.
Also, one month from today and we will have a baby! I can't wait (partly because I'm excited to have him and partly because I'm done being pregnant!)

Chairs...

Jordan is obsessed with sitting on chairs now. He especially loves the one that will give him access to the computer! He can get on them by himself now, which is always fun. I am glad he waited at least this long to be a climber!

Getting ready for baby!

Here is our double stroller and car seat we got for the baby...and Jordan I guess! It is so exciting to be getting ready! At my last doctor appointment I finally found out my delivery date - January 11th. I am having another c-section, so I guess the good thing is that I do get to schedule it. It is coming up soon!

Our trip to Utah

We just spent a great week in Utah with Mike's family. Jordan had a ton of fun, and I got to rest! Unfortunately I don't have too many pictures, but here are a couple.

They set up a little kids table for Thanksgiving and as soon as a spot opened up, Jordan was there. He was so happy to be with the other kids that as soon as he sat down he started trying to have a conversation with them. Here he is, happy as can be munching on a roll.

Jordan finally warmed up to his cousin Aubrey. He was obsessed with making sure she had her pacifier. Every time it fell out he would say "uh oh" and try to get it back in. What a cutie!

Big brother

Jordan says hi to his brother now and hugs him! We tell him to say hi to the baby and he goes right to my stomach. I don't know how much he understands, but he knows what baby means.

Two months to go!

Can you do it?

I checked this book (From Head to Toe by Eric Carle) out from the library for Jordan and he LOVED it, so we had to get it. As you can tell, he pretty much has it memorized, but he really does know most of his body parts now. We can ask where his ear is, his nose, his foot, toe, leg, face, etc and he can point to it. He is so cute!

A little horsing around

Mike's parents' ward had their Trunk or Treat while we were there, so we took Jordan. We found the perfect costume - a horse! He looked so adorable. He actually tolerated the costume better than we thought and kept it on the whole time. He loved following the other kids - he would stop right in front of them and stare like he was trying to figure out what was going on. It was fun for him to have a big place to get to run around. He didn't quite understand the whole candy thing, but if he got a piece, he knew to put it in his bucket.

Tractor time

Jordan got to ride around on a tractor with Grandpa Haderlie. He figured out how to use the levers and had a lot of fun.

Cousin Aubrey

We were so excited that we got to go to Utah this weekend to see Jordan's new cousin Aubrey. We were surprised, however, that he did not react at all the way we thought he would. For the past few weeks I have been pointing out babies everywhere - tv, magazines, at the store, etc. He has been so excited about them and even would say baby every time we saw one. Well, he was not excited about Aubrey. He just cried when we put them close to each other. By the second time he was willing to get a little closer to her, but he was still hiding behind me the whole time. I guess he just likes them at a distance!

Dancing and talking

Jordan is SO cute. I'm sorry, but I can't stop saying it! Here are some videos from tonight. He was just chatting away, so we tried to get a video of it - he likes to hold conversations. But, he started to dance, which was really cute too. In the second video, though, we got a little of both.

Zoo

We took Jordan to the zoo today. He loves looking at animals and gets so excited when he sees them.

Jordan especially loves birds (he definitely doesn't get that from his dad!) They were everywere so he was having a good time.

He kept wanting to run everywhere. What a cutie!

Jordan found some peacocks and chased after them...they must have made him feel at home (we shared our apartment complex in Oregon with peacocks)!

Here is Jordan waving hi to a monkey. I tried to get them both, but Jordan is cuter anyway!

Jordan was really interested in the tortoise.

Our son is a double wide...

We finally got to the point where we had to get Jordan new shoes. I figured I would just go to Payless or somewhere like that and pick up a pair of shoes. I never bothered to measure his foot because how hard could it be to feel where his toe is, right? Well, I decided to go to Stride Rite just to see because I know he has wide feet and finding wide shoes for a baby is close to impossible! Well, they measured him and not only was he not a size 5 like I thought, his toe was already at 5 1/2 and he was a double wide! So, we got him some size 6 double wide shoes today! As an aside, if anyone knows where to find wide toddler shoes for less than at Stride Rite, let me know!

Mister Muscles

Yesterday I watched a couple of kids for a friend at church. At one point, the 2 1/2 year old girl wanted to ride this toy. I was pushing her and Jordan decided to take over. He pushed and pulled her back and forth across the room! I couldn't believe that he could do that! He was laughing while he was doing it - it makes him happy to do things that we do.

My little flower

At church a few weeks ago, Mike did this song with some kids and Jordan loved it. He still remembers what to do! He is SO cute.

And, as an aside, notice the shoe on the floor...Jordan loves bringing us shoes and putting them on. Sometimes, he just brings them in the living room and stacks them and then takes them back to where we keep them. What a funny kid!

Jordan has been fussing lately in his high chair, and we figured out that he wants to sit in a chair like we do! I guess we need to move on to a booster seat soon.

The buzz

Mike has been dying to give Jordan a buzz cut so I finally let him. It is so short! But, as always, Jordan is incredibly cute!

Maestro

We have been watching conference this weekend and every time the Mormon Tabernacle Choir has come on Jordan has stopped whatever he was doing to watch...and to conduct them. I think we have a future musician on our hands!

The game

Mike had a student faculty softball game today, so we went to watch. It would have been fun if any of the faculty showed up. But Jordan had a lot of fun anyway.

Jordan loves throwing balls!

UNLV is right next to the airport so the airplanes come so close. This one wasn't even in the lowest one that passed over us!

Jordan has been fascinated with the airplanes since we moved here. He always points at them. He was scared the first time one of them passed so close, but then he just liked it.

Baby Belly!

Here is my belly at about 6 months. I'm getting big!

Noise

Jordan loves to bang his toys together and make noise now, especially if we do it with him.

Stairs

Jordan has figured out how to go down the stairs! It isn't too exciting to watch I guess, but we are excited that he can do it! At the end he is saying hi to me at the top of the stairs.

All dressed up

Is he handsome or what?! Here is Jordan before church this morning. We ended up teaching the sunbeams today and he had a lot of fun with them. He played the games with them and colored and everything! They had fun with him too.

The discriminating taste

Jordan has a new food obsession - Captain Crunch. It was on sale the other day so I got a box and he tried it for the first time this morning. Since then he has decided that only the crunch berries are worth his time. Here he is picking the one out of a handful and then begging for another since there aren't any in Mike's hand. What a funny kid! He knows the box too and where it is, so if we try to give him something else when he wants Captain Crunch, he keeps pointing at the cupboard where we keep it.

Banana!

Jordan has recently become very independent about his bananas. He has to hold them himself now!

In other news, it is finally starting to cool down here - low 90's. It is amazing what 10 degrees can do to make it feel better. We went to a park today for a play group and it wasn't uncomfortable at all. Jordan doesn't mind either way...he'll play outside no matter what the conditions!
We are also meeting more and more people now and we are even speaking in church already this Sunday!

Hi!

We have been trying so hard to get a video of Jordan saying hi because it is so cute. But, somehow he knows whenever a camera is operating nearby. But, I got one. You have to listen right as the door is opening, and you will hear him say hi. He says it whenever we go to get him out of his crib, whenever he sees us after any break, and he is starting to say it on the phone to Mike. He is SO cute!

Isn't this a handsome boy! I just couldn't get over it, so I had to take a picture. Unfortunately the camera just doesn't do him justice!

Anyway, here is a funny story about Jordan.

The other night he woke up around 2:45 am and would not go back to sleep. Finally at 3:00 Mike took him downstairs to give him a drink and a cracker. Apparently that wasn’t what he wanted because he wouldn’t take it. Then he kept pointing at the cupboard with the cereal so Mike lifted him up and he pointed to his cereal. So Mike took it out and gave him a little. But, Jordan kept it in his hands and pointed to the cupboard with the bowls and then next at the fridge. He wanted a bowl of cereal! So, Mike fed him a bowl of cereal and then he went right back to sleep. I guess he had a midnight craving! He was so cute because he was really happy while he was eating it.

Dancing boy

Jordan loves to dance!

Our house

Well, here it is, our house. We feel very lucky that we found this house to rent in our price range. It is a little farther out, but I think it ends up being the best location in relation to Mike's school, other than living right there on the strip. We have really enjoyed having the space, especially Jordan. And, I am not sure why, but he is sleeping so much better here. Up until we left Oregon, he was still waking up two or three times a night. As soon as we moved here, he has been sleeping all the way through the night!
We finally received our belongings last week after a lot of trouble, several lies, and a lot of stress. Unfortunately, most of our furniture had damage to it, some completely ruined. We think they just threw our stuff on the truck that delivered it. As an aside, if any of you need to move, stay as far away as you can from King Van Lines. Anyway, we are really happy to have everything now. Jordan has enjoyed rediscovering his toys too. So, here are some pictures of our new home.

Here is the front half of the living room. Our furniture looks so small in this house, whereas it looked so huge in our apartment!

We decided to leave the back half open for Jordan to play in. We put our old dining table (they cracked the top almost in half) in there for Mike to study on until it completely breaks.

Our new table!

I am so excited to have a kitchen that both Mike and I can fit in.

Here are the two extra bedrooms upstairs. The laundry is on the right and the bathroom is on the left. It has been so nice to have space between wherever we are and where Jordan is sleeping so that we don't have to be so quiet.

Here is our bedroom - one of our favorite things about the house. We were able to fit all our bedroom set and the desk in there and we still have a ton of floor space. Our bathroom is just off the the left there. The closet is amazing too. We put both of our bookcases in there and a bunch of other stuff and we still can walk around in it.

Anyway, that is our house and we are loving it. It is so nice to not have shared walls anymore or anyone below to worry about my active boys disturbing.
